past shows

from 1st - 31st December and January by appointment

(Closed for Christmas 23 - 27th December)

This preparation time before Christmas brings contemplation as well as busy-ness, thoughts of the significance of the Nativity and also a time for recollecting the year’s happenings in our own lives and in the world. This ADVENT exhibition touches on the whole gamut of life ~ its joy, colour, fun, mystery, mythology, solemnity, homeliness and transience ...

I hope you enjoy it all!

EMMA SCOTT
Puppet Nativity EMMA SCOTT

papier maché/gesso

This moveable tableau of the Nativity has a mediaeval quality and seems to capture a moment of theatre.  The individual characters are available separately or as a complete piece for £1,500.  The bases are Bath stone.

In her mixed media paintings EMMA SCOTT seeks to engender the spirit of rock carvings; the mystery of the marks, a sense of being worn by time... representing that step between living on this earth and a spiritual existence.

MICHAEL SHEPPARD’s new paintings are evocative of the cooler light on the Penwith coastline as winter takes hold - with occasional bursts of brilliant orange sunshine.

ARDYN GRIFFIN uses papier mache as modelling clay - moulding intricate figures and creatures which she decorates to create a magical world.  Piece de resistance is a  complete Nativity scene.  Cave paintings inspired her leaping Deer.
