‘Volunteers with bonfire & molehills..’ and ‘ Nature Reserve with Molehills’ by Elaine Pamphilon,  with sculpture by John Maltby below.

Welcome to our JUBILATION exhibition ~ extolling the paintings of ELAINE PAMPHILON, JOHN MALTBY’s ceramic sculpture, NIGEL LAMBERT’s slip decorated earthenware and the jewels of GUY ROYLE and GINA COWEN ~ all at the peak of their professions!  What puts them centre stage is their imaginative and unique vision, coupled with an assured handling of their chosen medium.

Both painter and harpist, ELAINE PAMPHILON divides her time between studios in Cambridge and St Ives.  Foreign travel in recent years has added to the wealth of inspiration behind her mixed-media paintings.  Here is a selection from the exhibition:

John Maltby

JM6 Royal Court Barge  33 x 43cm

Recognised world-wide as one of Britain’s finest ceramic artists, JOHN MALTBY speaks with a lone voice.  Elements of myth and imagination emerge through his archetypal figures that gaze out with compelling eyes, mitigated by a touch of humour.

IGEL LAMBERT

NIGEL LAMBERT’s personal style of form and decoration has flourished over the past ten years, earning him recognition and exhibitions world-wide.  His thrown and altered earthenware pots combine strong shapes with free brushwork. Entirely practical in use, they enhance both table and food.

Essentially contemporary in style, albeit with echoes of a distant past, GUY ROYLEs beaten silver and gold jewellery is bold in scale and presence.  He etches, incises and inlays the metals and carves the semi-precious stones, creating bangles, necklaces, earrings and brooches of distinction ~ and a joy to wear.
