In MELVYN EVANS’ linocut prints, the figurative meets the abstract - albeit in harmony. Melvyn is fascinated by the evolution of mankind in relation to the landscape; the signs of earlier ways of living in old place names, ancient walls, boundary stones and markers. He is also drawn to Cornish coastal harbours and the age-old practice of small boat fishing. These elements he illustrates with great skill In his many-layered linocuts.
