A man of extraordinary creative talents, John Maltby has left a void within the artistic life of this country. An intuitive understanding of the human condition, aligned with deep technical prowess, a mind open to the wonders of nature, of music, and to the legacy of earlier great artists, John brought to his work a uniqueness of style. Whatever the medium, a \u2018Maltby\u2019 piece is always recognisable as his alone.<\/p>\n

Through generous loans from collectors and John\u2019s family, a rich array of his work through the decades is on display. Recent work from his final firings and a few earlier pieces are available to buy. What follows is a brief resum\u00e9 and includes a selection of images of the work for sale in the exhibition.
