THE YEAR AHEAD<\/span><\/p>\n

Exciting exhibitions to look forward to at Yew Tree Gallery this season!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018GENERATIONS\u2019<\/strong> - a guest exhibition, curated by Christine Feiler<\/strong>, opens on 26th<\/sup> April for three weeks. Centring around the paintings of her mother JUNE MILES<\/strong> (1924-2021) are ceramics by CHRISTINE<\/strong>, paintings by her father PAUL FEILER<\/strong> and her two sons Ben and Paul, as well as sculpture by PAUL MOUNT<\/strong>, June\u2019s second husband.\u00a0 <\/span>June lived in St Just for many years and several of her paintings reflect the scenery of Penwith, as well as her travels in Spain and France.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Following this on 31st<\/sup> May, TREASURES OF THE MIND<\/strong> reveals a newly discovered\u00a0<\/span>cache of remarkable work by JOHN MALTBY<\/strong> \u2013 dating from his early years as a potter and model-maker until his death in 2020. Hidden away in cupboards at his home in Devon, this collection includes choice pieces he wanted to keep for himself. A privilege indeed to show them here!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Another rare opportunity in this same exhibition is the offer of original prints by renowned artist \u2013 BREON O\u2019CASEY<\/strong> (1928 \u2013 2011).\u00a0 <\/span>He and John respected each other\u2019s work and showed together in their lifetime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Crowning the 3D display of the Maltby work will be a distinctive collection of contemporary paintings by TABBY BOOTH<\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/span>In striking silhouette her stylised animals, birds\u00a0 <\/span>and insects stand out against a light background, framed in dark wood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Jewellers NANCY PICKARD<\/strong> and GUY ROYLE<\/strong> and potters KATE SAMPSON<\/strong> and NIGEL LAMBERT<\/strong> add the richness of their vision to this mind enhancing show.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The next exhibition for your diaries is WEB OF LIFE<\/strong> (6th<\/sup> September \u2013 30th<\/sup> October). Exquisite paintings by FIONA OWEN<\/strong> are shown with the delicate ceramics of ANNA LAMBERT<\/strong>, figurative sculpture by ANNA NOEL<\/strong>, paintings by ANDREW WADDINGTON<\/strong>, felt birds by RUSSELL WILSON<\/strong> and TAMSIN ABBOTT<\/strong>\u2019s stained glass panels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
