Stimulated by the coastline around West Cornwall, MICHAEL SHEPPARD<\/strong>\u2019s oil paintings capture the flash of sunlight on rock or wave that illuminates a moment in the open air. Abstract though his interpretation of landscape is, a sense of place feeds the imagination and leads one into the special atmosphere of the Penwith peninsula. Through underpainting and scumbling techniques, Michael achieves many unusual and subtle colour tones \u2013 and a luminosity which defies definition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
