LESLEY BIRCH<\/strong>\u2019s paintings stem from memories and sketches of time spent in Scotland, Ireland and Cornwall. She is partial to \u2018dramatic skies, lilac hills and rugged coasts\u2019 \u2013 painting the weather as much as the landscape in expressive brush strokes ~ proclaiming her great joy in the flow of paint. A professional musician before she made a career as a painter, Lesley likens the sensation of mark making and colour combining to \u2018that exciting moment when materiality and emotion meet, the same moment as the resolution of a hanging chord.\u2019 She lives in York and is a member of the Society of Scottish Artists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
