An unconventional jeweller, SARAH DREW<\/strong> uses found objects within her designs, picked up on beach walks, combined with oxidized silver \u2013 often fused into abstract shapes to create striking necklaces and brooches. Fascinated by Viking and Roman jewellery, she uses similar basic tools and ancient techniques for her work, often \u2018ageing\u2019 a piece to give a worn look. Living near the South Cornwall coast, Sarah finds inspiration from sea colours and contrasting dark slate rocks, so it is not surprising that opals are her favourite stones \u2013 revealing similar flashes of turquoise, green and gold light as they are polished. These she sets into rings and bracelets of silver or brass.<\/p>\n

Continuing her use of beach finds and recycled silver and gold (as a gesture against the harmful and dangerous mining of precious metals) she has added to her collection of jewellery with these unusual \u2013and eminently wearable pieces ~<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
