FIONA MILLAIS\u2019s paintings reflect her love of the countryside and her close observation of nature in all seasons.<\/p>\n

She reveals what lies beneath the surface of a landscape by scraping back and layering the paint. Subtly conveying the atmosphere of weather and seasons, she paints among fields and woodlands, coastlines and lakes and often includes a feather, pebble or shell in the imagery to trigger the memory of that day\u2019s experience and the sense of place. Fiona is intrigued by how landscapes and shorelines are shaped \u2013 by nature, ourselves and our ancestors \u2013 leaving traces, marks and echoes. A Fine Art graduate of Newcastle University, she is the great grand-daughter of the Pre-Raphaelite painter St John Everett Millais.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
