Responding to the season, Turn up the Heat is an exploration of how several artists and makers use colour and how they achieve dramatic effect by their use of materials and technique.
Carry Akroyd’s serigraphs and oil paintings explore the countryside, observing the subtle changes at the interface between nature and man, ‘and sometimes an images just end up being about colour!’
Jess Davies is chiefly a printmaker and her work often comprises very simple images that are very evocative of mood and space.
RAMP Ceramics are creative partners with husband Roop making the forms and Alice decorating the forms with motifs abstracted from the natural world and building these up in layers of colourful slips.
Richard Phethean also uses contrasting clay slip when making his hand thrown and altered sculptural works.

Kitty Hillier works on hard board and using refined shapes that she has drawn from nature seeks to spark jarring and harmonious relationships in her use of colour, which is then, carved into.
Penny Carter is a glass artist and jeweller whose work is full of light and wearable happiness. There is also jewellery by GUY ROYLE, RITA SERES and DUIBHNE GOUGH, ceramics by JOHN MALTBY, JUDITH ROWE, ARWYN JONES and a selection of unframed artist’s prints by ROSE HILTON, MELVYN EVANS and MARK HEARLD
